2019 Testimony – 7

Senator Winfield, Representative Stafstrom, and Distinguished Members of the Judiciary Committee:

Oppose An Act Concerning Ghost Guns.  Please don’t fall victim to clever terms. Firearms didn’t require serial numbers until after 1968. The proponents of this bill will say criminals are making “assault” or “military” weapons at home. This is already against Connecticut law.

Oppose S.B. 60 An Act Concerning The Presentation Of A Carry Permit.  This is a bill that simply profiles gun owners. This bill allows police to stop, seize, and question people for no other reason than doing something that is lawful.

Support An Act Authorizing Certain Persons To Carry Handguns In State Parks And Forest. Federal law and over 30 other states allow persons to carry handguns in parks and forest.

Support H.B. 5227 An Act Concerning The Regulation Of Firearms By Municipalities. Please allow my state legal firearms, legal statewide.

I urge the Committee to vote favorably on: S.B. 940, H.B. 5227, H.B. 5870.

I urge the Committee to oppose S.B. 60, H.B. 7218, H.B. 7219, H.B. 7223.

Thank you for your time.
