ATF Action Alert
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosive (ATF) has proposed an executive rule regarding Pistol Braces that could turn law-abiding gun owners into felons.

Pursuing President Biden’s gun control agenda, the ATF wants to reclassify firearms with stabilizing braces as short barrel rifles, triggering a registration and $200 NFA tax stamp for every firearm you own with a pistol brace.  There are millions of of these braces in circulation.  Among many of the reasons for these braces is to aid injured veterans and are commonly used by disabled gun owners. This is an obvious first step to expanding the definition of NFA items – meaning a $200 tax stamp – for many type of firearms. There really is no limit to Biden’s gun control agenda!

The ATF is accepting public comments on this new rule until September 9th, but DON’T wait! CCDL members need their voices heard. Gun owners across the country need to stand united and we need to send them with as many comments as possible. This is a 2nd Amendment infringement; don’t think this new rule won’t impact you or someone you know. Imagine having to pay a $200 tax on every firearm you own?

Be sure your comments are counted and not disregarded, be sure to be polite and respectful. Show them that gun owners are levelheaded. Comments can be made online  https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/06/10/2021-12176/factoring-criteria-for-firearms-with-attached-stabilizing-braces#open-comment

We have stopped this ruling in the past, but gun owners are falling drastically short on the ATF estimated 300,000+ expected comments on the rule change of pistol braces.

If not YOU, then WHO? If not NOW, then when?

Talking Points to make in your comments

  • Keep your comments limited to the brace.  “Other” is a Connecticut designation and will be disregarded.
  • ATF has already ruled stabilizing brace to be legal and are not considered a stock.
  • Braces are in common use.
  • Braces were designed for people with disabilities.
  • The proposed score card is confusing and could make someone a felon if the sheet is filled out incorrectly.
  • This rule is very subjective and complex.
  • Don’t mention 80% receivers, there is a separate link for those comments. Mentioning the 80% could result in your comment being disregarded.
  • Don’t be rude.
  • Don’t mention tyranny or ATF standoffs.

Re: ATF 2021R-08

I request that the ATF withdraw its proposed rules to on pistol braces.

There are over 3 million pistol braces in use, making them common. This new rule could turn millions of law-abiding gun owners into felons.

The proposed “worksheet” used to classify firearms as either pistols or short-barreled rifles, no pistol braced firearms would count as a pistol. The proposed “worksheet” is confusing and unfeasible for millions of law-abiding pistol brace owners. And would make someone a felon if the sheet is filled out incorrectly.

Not to mention many disabled citizens use pistol braces to adapt to their disabilities.

Under Section II of the proposal, practically all pistol braces previously approved by ATF would be classified as a short-barreled rifle.

This proposal will do nothing to prevent criminals or make the public safer.
